Once again, EIDAP Inc played an important part in the Pets in the Park program, both in Edmonton and in Saskatoon. We were on hand in both cities to assist with the pet microchipping program, and 120 pets were successfully microchipped this year!
According to the Edmonton Humane Society:
Thousands of pets and their people enjoyed a beautiful and fun-filled day at Sir Wilfred Laurier Park in Edmonton on June 27. This event continues to grow and thrive - in fact, Pets in the Park has been named Edmonton's official Pet Festival this year! Edmonton is known as being a "festival city" and we know Pets in the Park is a fantastic addition to the summer festival season.
Once again, the support of the community for the Fabulous Furballs pledged walk and the Tail Blazers pledged fun run was absolutely outstanding. Combined with the funds raised through many activities, demonstrations, vendors and sponsors, more than $150,000 will help to care for the over 11,000 animals that will make their way through the Edmonton Humane Society's doors in 2010.
EIDAP fully supports programs such as these wherever they happen. We believe they help save the lives of animals and they fit perfectly with our motto: A Pet Should Never Stay Lost. We will be on hand again next year - June 26 in Edmonton; and July (TBA) in Saskatoon. We hope to see you there!
